This will be my last post in social media until Tuesday I'm headind for hills to unplug. And to truely unplug I cannot be your Facebook friend or join you in Twitter banter for a few days. I figured I'd better make my last post worth something. Here's what came to mind this morning as I considered the days ahead and what we all come together to celebrate this weekend. Independence.
Thoughts on Personal Independence1. Love does not = dependence but can be depended on. 2. Let it go this weekend. Anger is a cage that enables others to control you. 3. Stay in touch with yourself. Take a vacation or do something by yourself for yourself. Whether you're a slave to fashion, the mom or dad who gives it all to your children, or like me a slave to your career. Shed your role and take the time to go be you every once in awhile. It's freeing and you're better for it. By not doing this the only person you can blame for your exaustion or for holding you back from being you is you. 4. You might loose your marbles every so often, or once a day. But hold onto your golden marble, your light. That voice inside you that is drowned out by the noise. Don't ever let anyone anyone put out your light. 5. Take charge of your livelyhood. My mother taught me to never financially depend on a man. And it has proven to be good advice over and over again. Death, divorce, economy, and many other circumstances can make you wish you had.
